War an act of terror, adopt principle of ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’, Khalra panel urges govt
The Khalra Mission Organisation (KMO) and Manukhi Adhikar Insaaf Sangharsh Committee (MAISC), a human rights body, have stated that the massacre of innocent people through war is also an act of terrorism.
Advocate Jagdeep Singh Randhawa of KMO said that the rulers of India and Pakistan should give up their animosity and take to diplomatic channels to resolve their differences through a dialogue.
“The philosophy of ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’ should be adopted to engage in the path of truthfulness, communal harmony and dialogue to settle the crisis,” they said.
The representatives further said that just like Pahalgam attack, killing of Sikhs in Chittisinghpura, Army attack on Sri Darbar Sahib, genocide of 1984 and fake encounters were all acts of terror,
They also pointed out that the unconstitutional and illegal detention of “Bandhi Sikhs”, non-abrogation of death sentence of Balwant Singh Rajoana and imposing National Security Act (NSA) on an elected MP, referring to Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, were also an act of terror.
Similarly, they said that depriving Punjab of its rights over water, electricity, territory, capital, killing of poor tribal people in fake encounters were also acts of terror.
Baba Darshan Singh of MAISC said, “When we are sowing poison, how would the period of ‘Amritkaal’ be achieved. We demand from the Government of India that they should engage in a dialogue with Sikhs, Kashmiris, tribals, farmers and the poor to attain ‘Amritkaal’ and work for the betterment of humanity,” he said.
