Phulkari - Women of Amritsar, a non-profit organisation run by women, is set to host a fundraising art programme to support the literacy initiative for students from underprivileged backgrounds. The event will take place on March 19, in collaboration with VR Ambarsar Mall, and will coincide with the concluding ceremony of the Punjab Art Festival.

Maharani Jindan’s Legacy

Anamika Arts Association and Punjab Naatshala will bring to life the story of the last queen of Punjab, Maharani Jindan, in a play based on the life of the most popular and beloved female monarch of Sikh history. Written by Dr Atma Singh Gill and directed by Emmanual Singh, the play will be staged at Punjab Naatshala on March 8 and 9, starting at 6.30 pm onwards.

For lovers of Sufi and Punjabi folk music, the king of Punjabi Sufi music, Satinder Sartaj, will be performing a live concert on March 14. The concert, Mehfil-e-Sartaj, will feature the beloved Sufi singer of Punjab presenting his own poetry along with the works of Waris Shah and Bulleh Shah at the historic Khalsa College for Women. Tickets for the concert start from Rs 500, with the event beginning at 7 pm onwards.
