The city police have arrested four accused allegedly involved in the brutal murder of one Jajji Singh (23), a resident of Sarhali Kalan. The police have impounded Honda City car used in the crime. The body of deceased Jajji Singh was recovered from the Zira-Lohian roadside near Manjhwala village on Tuesday.

The city police registered a case under Sections 103, 140 and 3(5) of the BNS in this connection against the four accused. In a press release today, SSP Abhimanyu Rana stated that the arrested accused were identified as Sandeep Kumar, alias Deepu, his wife Balwinder Kaur, Kamalpreet Singh Banti and Mannu Kumar, all residents of Lalluana road, Mansa district.

The SSP said Balwinder Kaur had illicit relations with Jajji Singh. When Sandeep Kumar came to know about this relationship, he asked his wife Balwinder Kaur to call the victim on his cellphone and lure him to come to Tarn Taran to meet her. As soon the victim arrived near the local bus stand, the accused caught hold of him and severely thrashed him. The accused took the victim to some undisclosed destination. Later, victim’s family found his body from roadside near Manjhwala village on Tuesday.

The arrested accused were presented in a court here today which sent them to two-day police remand, the SSP said. — OC
