A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel room here on Monday. The deceased is reportedly a dancer who checked into the hotel with a youth on Sunday night.

According to information, she was accompanied by Manjit Singh of Jaintipur village. When her health deteriorated suddenly in the night, the youth got afraid and fled left the hotel.

Gurwinder Singh, SHO, Division B police station, said the body had been sent for a post-mortem examination and a case was being registered against Manjit Singh after establishing his identity from the documents submitted at the time of check in.
