Amritsar: A workshop on “Technovations in Designing Electronic Circuits” was organised jointly by the institute’s Innovation Council and PG Department of Physics at DAV College, Amritsar. The main spokespersons of the programme were Dr Manpreet Kaur and Dr Vibha Chopra. The speakers shared their valuable suggestions and information regarding the designing of the circuit. They called upon the students to improve their circuit design skills through practical workshops. During the inauguration programme, Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar said circuit design was an essential part of any electronics engineering. It has a huge application in fields like embedded systems, power electronics, modern electrical systems and equipment. Dr Manpreet and Dr Vibha explained that this circuit design workshop was systematically designed so that students can understand the basics thoroughly and design their own circuits based on specific requirements.
Seminar on road safety organised
DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, organised a seminar on Road Safety and Traffic Awareness. The speakers include Paramjit Singh Chahal (Inspector, Traffic Police) and Harbhajan Singh (In charge, Traffic Education Cell) apprised the vans and bus drivers present about the school “Safe Vahan Policy”. They exhorted them to follow all safety norms and work in unison with the traffic police to ensure the well-being of the students. They urged them to take their responsibility seriously as the onus of the safety of the students is on their shoulders. Head Constable Salwant Singh, Mamta and various members of District Saanjh Kendra also accompanied the speakers. School Principal Dr Pallavi Sethi expressed her gratitude to the traffic department and asked the drivers present to follow all safety protocols mentioned in the school “Safe Vahan Policy”.
TCS selects 132 students from GNDU
The Directorate of Placement and Career Enhancement, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, organised a campus work placement drive by multinational IT company Tata Consultancy Services. As many as 132 students from various departments of Guru Nanak Dev University were hired by the company. These students will join work in July 2023 after their final exam. TCS conducted online test, technical and HR interviews of final-year students of BTech (Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering) and MCA. After the rigorous selection process, TCS offered job to 132 students. TCS offered digital profile and ninja profile to the selected students. The selected students have been offered an annual salary package between Rs 3.36 lakh per annum and Rs 7 lakh per annum. The students belong to the main campus of Amritsar as well as the regional campuses of Jalandhar and Gurdaspur. Many more companies like Infosys, Amdocs, Capgemini, Nagarro and many others have confirmed their visit in near future to recruit the students of GNDU. Amritpal Singh, alumni of GNDU and co-founder and CTO of CustomerSuccessBox, Gurugram, said, “It is a great achievement for both university and students to reach this milestone. A GNDU student of 2022 batch got the highest package of Rs 44 lakh per annum this year selected by Amazon. The average pay package also jumped from Rs 5.16 lakh per annum in academic session 2020-21 to Rs 6.37 lakh per annum in academic session 2021-22.
