A leopard killed six goats after entering their enclosure at Rehna village of Nuh district on Monday night.
The goats are said to be valued in the lakhs of rupees.
Panic has spread among villagers after the incidents, with residents demanding financial help from the administration for the victim.
On Tuesday morning, the Wildlife Department was informed of the incident by the village Sarpanch. Department employee Mubin reached the spot and confirmed that a leopard had killed the goats. The leopard’s footprints have been spotted. No human was hurt in the ordeal.
Nazakat, a representative of the village Sarpanch, said the leopard entered the village late on Monday night, and attacked the goats in their enclosure.
Hearing the noise, villagers rushed out of their homes, and spotted the leopard running towards the hills.
Kamru, a villager, said two of his goat kids were missing.
“Our village is adjacent to the Aravalli area, and leopards have been spotted in the hills earlier as well. On the instructions of the Wildlife Department, the village panchayat has made an announcement and asked people to be alert. The victim's goats were his only source of income, and we are demanding financial help for him,” Nazakat said.
