CET candidate killed in Sonepat mishap

A woman candidate from Rewari, who was on her way to appear for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) at a centre here, was killed while her husband, 10-month-old daughter and brother-in-law sustained injuries in a road mishap in the Kharkhoda area of this district.

The deceased was identified as Anjana of Bhadawas village of Rewari district. Her husband Pradeep, daughter Yashwin and brother-in-law Sidharth sustained injuries in the accident that occurred near drain number-8 on NH-334B.

Anjana, along with her family members, was travelling in a car to Sonepat where she had to appear for the CET on Saturday morning. Her husband Pradeep was driving the car when a truck ahead of them suddenly applied brakes. As Pradeep tried to prevent a collision, the car got imbalanced and overturned on the service lane after breaking the railing on the roadside.

Commuters rushed the injured to the Community Health Centre in Kharkhoda where doctors referred all of them to the PGIMS, Rohtak, due to their serious condition.

Anjana succumbed to her injuries at the PGIMS.
