Smuggler held with 130gm contraband

The Basti Jodhewal police have nabbed a drug smuggler and seized 130 gm heroin from his possession. The accused has been identified as Gagan Sharma, a resident of Bawa Colony.

Additional DCP Sameer Verma stated Inspector Jasvir Singh of Jodhewal police station arrested a drug smuggler on Sunday. The SHO had received information that the smuggler was on way to deliver heroin to his clients in the city. Accordingly, a police party conducted a raid after knowing the whereabouts of the suspect and nabbed him along with the contraband. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.

ADCP Verma stated during the preliminary questioning of the accused, it was found that he had a criminal background and was facing more than 11 cases, including murder, rape, theft, fraud and assault.
