‘Assembly seats with Rajput population should be de-reserved’

Haryana Rajput Unity Group called for de-reserving those Assembly and Lok Sabha seats which have considerable number of Rajput votes.
Members met at Maharana Pratap Hostel, Sector 25, Chandigarh, on Saturday.
Advocate Naresh Chauhan of Rewari has founded the group. The meeting was presided over by Anup Chauhan, president-in-chief, All India Rajput Students’ Aid Society, and Naresh Chauhan.
The speakers highlighted social and political situation of the community and discussed methods by which the community’s representation in all spheres could be increased. It was pointed out that how community had been supporting the BJP in various Assembly polls and the recent General Election.
It was resolved that as most of the constituencies having considerably number of Rajput votes had been reserved for the last 40 years, thus these should now be de-reserved in 2020 delimitation.
It was also decided that Rajput community be encouraged to carry all communities with them and they should lead from the front for betterment of society and social change. It was decided that youth of the community be encouraged to remain active for social activities.
It was also decided that the delegation of Haryana Rajput Unity Group should meet CM Manohar Lal Khattar in put forth their demands.
The meeting was attended by members from Chandigarh, Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Rewari and Gurugram.
The next meeting of the group would be held on August 3, either at Hisar or Faridabad.
