Kullu Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Neeraj Chadha said 20 sleepers of deodar and four sleepers of kayal were seized from a saw mill at Benchi village near Raison here today.

The DFO said he had constituted a special team to keep a watch against illegal wood felling and encroachments on the forest land.

He said the team seized sleepers, which were illegally sawed at the mill adding that the police had arrested Chhopan Ram from the spot and a case had been registered. — OC
