10-yr jail for rape accused

Additional Sessions Judge, Ashu Sanjiv Tinjan has sentenced Deepak to 10 years imprisonment for raping a minor in January this year.

The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000 and ordered that in case of default the convict would serve an additional imprisonment of six months.

A resident of Durga colony had lodged a complaint at Murthal police station on January 27 stating that his 13- year old daughter was missing since January 16. He alleged that Deepak, a resident Adiana village in Panipat and presently residing in the same colony, had enticed and eloped with her. The police arrested the accused and recovered the girl from a house in Sector 7.

The girl alleged the accused had taken her to Mumbai and had repeatedly raped her. Her medical examination had confirmed rape.
