Karnal, July 21
Surinder Singh Bhoria, SP, on Friday honoured two residents of Karnal city, including a chowkidar of the Karan Vihar area, for foiling an attempt to steal an ATM on the Phoosgarh road in the wee hours of Wednesday. He gave away a cash reward of Rs 2,000 each and certificates to both.
“Sangram Singh, a resident of Karan Vihar, and Hari Parsad, a chowkidar, had foiled an attempt to steal an ATM by raising the alarm. Due to their prompt action, the thieves left the ATM, which had around Rs 2.93 lakh, in a cycle-rickshaw,” said the SP.
He applauded the bravery of residents and appealed to citizens to contribute to checking crime. — TNS
