As many as 230 students of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) were selected by an Indian IT multinational for employment recently.
Students who got placement are from the 2017 batch of BTech (computer science), BTech (electronics), MCA, MTech (IT) and MTech (CS) of the varsity.
A 70-member team of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) visited GNDU campus for recruitment, which went on for four days, starting from September 5. The selection process included online test followed by technical, HR and MR interviews. The students have been offered package of Rs 3.30 lakh per annum. They will join the TCS in June 2017.
Dr Palwinder Singh, in charge placements, said, “We are expecting many companies, including Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Infogain, Nagarro, Amdocs, to visit university for more placements of the 2017 batch.”
Dr Amit Chopra, assistant placement officer, said, “As many as 830 students of different courses from the 2016 batch have already got jobs.”
