3 arrested, 9 bikes recovered

The Division B police station has arrested three vehicle lifters and recovered nine stolen motorcycles from their possession.

The police nabbed Sharanjit Singh of Banka Baler village in Bikhwind area with a stolen motorcycle from near Taran Wala Pul area. During his interrogation, the police recovered two more motorcycles.

According to the police, his interrogation revealed that he along with Bohar Singh and Bikkar Singh of Bhikhiwind and Avtar Singh of Farndipur village had formed a gang. Bohar was the kingpin while Avtar Singh used to hide and later sell the stolen motorcycles.

They used to steal the bikes from outside Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Gurdwara besides other parts of the city. Following this, the police arrested Bikkar Singh and Avtar Singh while Bohar Singh was still absconding. Their interrogation led to the seizure of seven more motorcycles.

Police officials said more recoveries are likely to be made after the arrest of Bohar Singh.
