Sirsa, January 15
As many as 35 passengers, mostly students, of a Haryana Roadways’ bus were injured after the bus collided with a canter at Poharka village, near Ellenabad, in Sirsa this morning.
While many of the injured were discharged after first aid, 12 were admitted to the Government Hospital, Ellenabad, and the General Hospital, Sirsa.
The Panipat-bound bus of Jhajjar depot was coming from Ganganagar when it collided against a canter at a near Poharka village.
Many of the injured were students of local colleges who had boarded the bus from Ellenabad to reach their institutions in Sirsa.
The canter driver fled the scene after the accident. Passersby rushed to rescue the injured students and shifted them to hospital.
Vinod Kumar, SHO of Ellenabad police station, also reached the accident site and restored traffic by removing the damaged vehicles from the road.
