7-day NSS camp ends at GPC

A cultural function was organised to mark the conclusion of seven-day NSS camp at Gobindgarh Public College, Alour (Khanna).

Ishwar Singh Duhan, DIG Bathinda Range ITB, Police Force North West Frontier, Chandigarh, was the chief guest.

Principal Dr Neena Seth Pajni welcomed the chief guest. Programme officer Prof Mandeep Singh and Prof Bangera Rupinder Kaur presented the report of the camp comprising the details of activities undertaken by volunteers.

He said volunteers took out a social awareness campaign in Dadheri Village against social problems such as AIDS, female foeticide and drug addiction. Volunteers also undertook cleanliness drive on the college campus and Dadheri village.

A workshop of first aid training was also held. Volunteers visited the Kusht Ashram of Khanna and distributed medicines, fruits, clothes and woolens to residents.

Various lectures on first aid, yoga training and on some social issues were delivered by eminent experts. A medical check-up camp was organised for NSS volunteers.

The Principal appreciated the work done by volunteers during the camp and motivated them to maintain the same spirit in other activities also.

Alumni members of GPC were also honored on the occasion.

Anil Agrawal (president GEWST), Sanjay Bhatia, Suresh Goyal (chairman GPC), Swaranjeet Singh Bagli, Nitin Saggar and Vikas Garg also graced the occasion.
