Akshardham terror attack accused’s accomplice held
Ahmedabad: An alleged accomplice of the terrorists who attacked the Akshardham temple in Gujarat’s capital city of Gandhinagar in 2002, killing 31 persons, was arrested by the Ahmedabad police here on Monday. Mohd Farooq Shaikh was arrested at the Ahmedabad airport upon his arrival from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Shaikh allegedly arranged funds for the attack by two Pakistan-based terrorists. OC
CPM suspends MLA over sexual abuse complaint
Thiruvananthapuram: Acting nearly four months after receiving a sexual harassment complaint against party MLA PK Sasi, the ruling CPM on Monday suspended him for six months from its primary membership as the opposition Congress demanded a police probe. Man detained for ‘joking’ about terrorists on flight
Kolkata: A man was detained and made to deboard a Jet Airways Kolkata-Mumbai flight on Monday after a co-passenger saw him covering his face and keying in a message about terrorists. Yogvedant Poddar was seen typing on his phone “Terrorist on flight, I destroy women hearts,” a CISF statement said. PTI
