Chandigarh, August 13

After a lackluster outing last week, Amandeep Drall will be keen on getting back to the winning ways when she tees off in the 12th leg of the Women’s Pro Tour at the Boulder Hills Golf & Country Club in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Amandeep has so far won just one title this season and is currently third on the money list with total earnings of Rs 8,07,533. The Panchkula golfer will though face a tough competition from the likes of local girl and amateur Sneha Singh, who piped experienced Vani Kapoor to win the previous leg of the tournament.

Another amateur Shreya Pal, who finished a creditable fifth last week, is also back in the field.

Among the leading names from the Pro Tour, Ridhima Dilawari, three time winner this season leads the list, while others include Order of Merit leader Gaurika Bishnoi, No. 2 Neha Tripathi. Kapurthala’s Gursimar Badwal is the other leading contender in  the field.

Sneha, 15, showed maturity way beyond her age to beat a strong field last week to join a select band of amateurs who have won a pro event. The list includes Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar, Tvesa Malik and Ridhima Dilawari.

Pranavi Urs, Gurbani Singh, Raksha Phadke and Mehar Atwal have also won titles on WPG Tour as amateurs.

Amandeep finished a disappointing 13th at the Hyderabad Golf Club with a card of 23-over 236 and she will be keen on making the amends as the second half of the season rolls on. — TNS/PTI
