The Rajasansi police have booked around 14 persons for murder attempt. They are said to have barged into a house and thrashed several persons over a land dispute on Tuesday. They also fired at Rajinderpal Singh of Rajasansi who sustained a bullet injury in his leg. The case was registered on Friday evening after attempts to make both parties strike a compromise failed. Those booked were identified as Kanwal Ranbir Singh, Baljinder Singh of Rajasansi, Manbir Singh of Khurmania village, Davinder Singh of Darajke village, Satinderbir Singh, Sanjiv Singh of Bagge Khurd village, Pardeep Singh of Kukkranwala village and Sukhjinder Singh of Khurmania village.
Rajinderpal stated to the police that he, along with his brother Inderpal Singh, nephew Manviinder Singh and kin Hardeep Singh, was sitting in his house when the accused attacked them. They were armed with firearms and sharp weapons. He alleged that Davinder Singh asked his accomplices to teach them a lesson for not transferring some property to him.
The police have registered a case under Sections 307, 452, 324, 323, 148, 149 of the Indian Penal Code and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act. No arrest has been made so far, said Bharat Bhushan, SHO, Rajansansi police station.
The complainant said the accused should be given exemplary punishment.
