15th convocation of veterinary academy

Amritsar: Khalsa College for Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS) will host the 15th convocation of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS) and national symposium on “Sustainable livestock development for food and nutritional security: Way forward” from October 22 to 23. Veterinary scientists from all over the country will be participating in the national event. Scientists will hold discussions and debates on animal health, treatment and care during the seminar. The KCVAS Principal, Dr SK Jand, said Chancellor of Khalsa University and president of Khalsa College Charitable Society, Satyajit Singh Majithia, would preside over the function. He said president of the Veterinary Council of India, Dr Umesh Chandra Sharma, and Vice-Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Dr AS Nanda, would be the special guests during the inaugural ceremony. “More than 200 delegates are expected to arrive for the conference in which papers on livestock development, synergistic relationship of livestock and agriculture sectors, animal care and health, besides livestock and small and marginal farmers will be discussed,” said Jand. — TNS
