192 Field Regiment celebrates golden jubilee

The 192 Field Regiment of the Artillery celebrated its golden jubilee here today. In a statement, the Public Relation Department, Defence, stated that the momentous occasion was celebrated for two days starting from January 31 onwards.
The event was attended by both serving and veteran Army officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and other ranks along with their families and Veer Naris of the regiment. Many senior Army officials were also present on the occasion.
Director General (Artillery), Lt Gen PR Shankar, addressed all ranks during the Special Sainik Sammelan. He applauded the regiment for its rich traditions and maintaining impeccable record over the years. A dog show was organised during the celebrations by an Army dog team from Remount and Veterinary Corps Centre and School, Meerut. The brass band of the Artillery Centre, Nasik, presented a display on the occasion.
A cultural programme, including bhangra, giddha and gatka performances, highlighting the traditions and culture of Punjab was organised on the occasion. Brig Saran Prasad (retired), the second commanding officer of the grand old paltan and the chief guest, commended the present team in making the event a success and also felicitated Veer Naris.
The Army Postal Services Corps released a special day cover and a commemorative stamp on the occasion to mark the 50 years of nation service by the regiment.
