The Amritsar rural police have booked three persons on the charge of raping a married woman. While one of the three persons has been arrested, the prime accused is still at large.
Those booked were identified as Mandeep Singh, alias Money, Sukhjinder Singh and Sawal, all residents of Jallupur village, falling under the Khalchian police station here.
In a complaint lodged with the police, the victim stated that the prime accused Money took her to a hotel after luring and threatening her. She alleged that the accused repeatedly made physical relations with her for the past two months. She stated that Sukhjinder and Sawal were equally responsible in the crime.
The police authorities said a case under Sections 376, 120-B and 506 of the IPC has been registered against the trio. Sub Inspector Parkash Kaur has been deputed for investigation in the case. Officials said the police had arrested Sukhjinder Singh in this connection while the remaining two accused were still at large.
