Jujhar Singh Samra, a student of Class 1 of Spring Dale Senior School, was declared the ‘Best Athlete Boy’, while Preyasi, another student of Class I of the school, was adjudged the ‘Best Athlete Girl’ during a personality development camp (PDC) organised on the school premises for students.

The event, which saw active participation of the students in fun-filled events, including obstacle race, straight race, spoon and lemon race, relay race, and tug-of-war, witnessed their parents participate in needle and thread race, three-legged race and musical chair, while their grandparents took part in balancing-the-ball activity organised for them.

The three generations enjoyed and helped each other in a live demonstration of skill, teamwork and discipline.

Rajiv Kumar Sharma, principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said it was that time of the year when three generations — students, their parents and grandparents — associated with the school, bring out their sporting gear — sports shoes and track suits — out of the closet to have some fun together on the ground.

“The sports ground of the school came alive with three generations togging out in their sports finery to forge a deeper bond with each other through their participation in various sports events,” he said.

He said students, their parents and grandparents had fun in the two-day camp as they simultaneously participated in various events that enabled them to learn lessons in team spirit and coordination.

“Such camps are regularly organised with a view to making learning an exciting proposition for the students,” he said.

Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, director, Spring Dale Senior School, and Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, managing trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, said the camp infused a spirit of discipline and coordination among the students, which were essential attributes for achieving success in life.
