Traders dealing in dry fruit, cereals, food, FMCG, ready made garments, spices and other material frequently travel between Amritsar and Delhi.
He said, “Demand of passengers to fly on the Amritsar-Delhi sector is good and the average fair is coming down with intense competition among the airlines after the arrival of new players,” he added.
Gunbir Singh, running a tour and travel company, said there are plenty of other reasons making the circuit popular among the passengers. A large number of Sikh populace resides in Delhi and surrounding areas. They frequently visit the city to pay obeisance at Golden Temple.
Similar is the case with Mumbai. This circuit also provides convenient access to Sikh pilgrims, coming here from around the world, to also travel to Nanded Sahib, seat of one of the five holiest Takhts, which is near Mumbai.
