A seven-day workshop on Data Analytics and Modeling by using AMOS, SmartPLS and ADANCO was inaugurated at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) here on Monday.
The workshop being organised by the GNDU’s Centre for Data Analytics and Research (CDAR) will conclude on May 18.
Participants have come all the way from different parts of the country, including West Bengal, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, to attend the workshop. Some participants have also come from Nepal.
Eminent scientist of bio-technology Prof Prabhjeet Singh, who has been handling multiple projects granted by different research agencies, inaugurated the workshop. He explained the inception and working of CDAR and termed it one of its own kinds in this region.
Delivering the inaugural lecture, programme coordinator Prof Rishi Raj said, “The thinking of future allows us to project our dreams and fantasies into a blank canvas. These workshops are blank canvas where we see our dreams changing to a reality.”
Professor Rishi elaborated that the workshop would inspire the individuals to develop their analytical skills in the field of research and its unique feature was that it was the first workshop in the region that comprehensively took all issues of scale refinement and business modelling by using the latest software such as SmartPLS, ADANCO along with AMOS.
Dr Nikunj Jain from the IMI, Delhi; Prof Gurjit Kaur from department of commerce, University of Jammu; and Dr A Shiva, a certified trainer on SmartPls from the University of Hamburg, Germany, were the resource persons of the workshop.
