700 jail inmates examined at ayurveda, yoga camp

Around 720 prisoners were examined during a free ayurveda and yoga camp organised at the Amritsar Central Jail here on Friday. The camp was organised by the Department of Ayurveda, in collaboration with the Central Jail and several private ayurvedic and herbal medicine firms.

District Ayurveda Officer, Dr Atamjit Singh Basra informed that the camp was organised under the Mission Tandrust Punjab. He pointed out that by adopting ayurveda way of medicine, people could get a cure of even chronic diseases while these medicines did not have any side effects. For a healthy lifestyle and living, he also gave some tips for relieving tension and stress.

The prisoners were also informed about the ill-effects of drug abuse and encouraged them to shun drugs.
