Amritsar, July 29
AirAsia X will launch its Kuala Lumpur-Amritsar flight from August 16. It will be the second flight of the airline from Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport. It had launched its Bengaluru flight on July 26. The airline will operate between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
When asked about choosing this route, a spokesperson of AirAsia X said, “We believe there are many markets currently underserved by the low-cost, long-haul market. India is a fast-growing market for AirAsia X. We have witnessed strong demand for services to and from Amritsar as a key tourism and leisure destination, which we believe is currently underserved.”
Following a thorough network review, he said we are confident of our new services. “We launched this route back in May with promotional fares and we will ensure we will continue to keep fares affordable,” he said.
Already, Malaysia’s Malindo Air is operating Kuala Lumpur flight. Besides, Scoot Airways is connecting the city with another prominent south eastern country — Singapore.
AirAsia X spokesperson further said, “It is all about value, innovation and choice. The airline provides guests options to choose optional extras they may wish to pay for, including the option to fly on flatbeds that have won the world’s best low-cost airline premium cabin for six years in a row at the 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards.”
The airline offers people to travel by air to over 130 destinations across the Asia Pacific region. Tour and travel operators are of the view that these flights will consolidate the tourist circuit linking the city. It will enable travel for students and visitors between South East Asia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, further connecting to Australia and New Zealand, as well as remote west coast America and Canada.
