Atal Tinkering Lab at girls’ school

School Education Minister OP Soni inaugurated the Atal Tinkering Lab and Maths Park at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Maha Singh Gate, on Saturday.
The laboratory has come up with the help of grant sanctioned by the NITI Aayog. It is aimed at providing wings to the creativity of budding students. The lab shall help students learn about various technologies. The lab aims at promoting pratical knowledge among students.
District Education Officer Sunita Kiran, District Science Supervisor Sudeep Kaur and Principal JK Shingari were also present at the inauguration.
Maths Park has also come up at the school which will be helpful in clearing the mathematics concepts of the students in a practical manner. Besides, the school was also given a grant of Rs 11 lakh by the minister.
Soni said, “I am very happy over the infrastructure of the school. I will get it included among the schools to be transformed into smart ones.”
Advising the teachers to refrain from carrying out protests during school hours, Soni said. “It is a teacher’s right to protest. But such activities shouldn’t be held during school hours.”
Notably, a number of teacher unions held a protest against the government under the banner of Sanjha Adhiyapak Morcha at the district administrative complex on Friday. Soni also visited SR Government College for Women and carried out a tree plantation.
