Amritsar: Automated calls of political parties are creating fear among voters citing revival of terrorism, besides blaming each other for desecration incidents. Residents have received calls from AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal in which he alleges Akali Dal for sacrilege incidents. Similarly, Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal blamed AAP for sacrilege incidents on automated calls.

“No one talks about tackling unemployment, poverty, education and health issues. It is easy to provoke people on religious issues,” said Ravneet Kaur, a resident. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
