Tarn Taran, December 30
Baba Balwinder Singh Khadur Sahib (60) passed away today morning at Khadur Sahib, 25 km from here. He was the second senior most sewadar of the Kar Sewa sect Khadur Sahib, being headed by Baba Sewa Singh, an international environmentalist.
Baba Baldev Singh (sewadar) said Baba Balwinder Singh was not well for the last few days and had been under treatment. He breathed his last in the early morning hours at his room in the dera. Baba Balwinder Singh used to handle the followers at the dera headquarters, Khadur Sahib, in the absence of Baba Sewa Singh.
Baba Balwinder Singh, hailing from Chutala village in Tarn Taran, joined the dera when he was just nine years old. He preferred not to get married and shunned the outer world to devote himself fully to the sect. The body was cremated in Khadur Sahib in the presence of thousands of followers of the dera. — OC
