The birth anniversary of Baba Deep Singh was celebrated with religious fervour as Gurmat programmes and langars were held across the district on Sunday.
As many as 202 persons were baptised and 300 units of blood were donated. The bhog of Akhand Path was performed at Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Shaheed. Sacrifice of Baba Deep Singh was narrated at the conclusion of kirtan darbar.
Rajinder Singh Sangha of Sewak Jatha Ishnan Amritwela said its members cleaned the sanctum sanctorum of the gurdwara with milk on Saturday night.
A ‘nagar kirtan’ procession was carried out in the city on Saturday which passed thorugh a number of roads and markets after starting from Akal Takht.
