Bhagat Baba Namdev remembered

Amritsar/Tarn Taran: The birth anniversary of Bhagat Baba Namdev was celebrated with great religious fervour at Diwan Hall in the Golden Temple on Tuesday. The bhog of akhand path and gurbani kirtan was performed by hazoori raagi Kuldeep Singh. The hukumnama was received by Golden Temple’s head priest Giani Jagtar Singh. The occasion was also commemorated in Tarn Taran with great enthusiasm. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
