Bibi Inderjit Kaur Khalsa honoured
Amritsar, November 3
Bibi Inderjit Kaur Khalsa, wife of late Yogi Bhajan, was honoured with the Sikhs in Education Award at the eighth annual Sikh Awards 2017. The award is bestowed on any Sikh educational establishment, teacher or individual who takes a strategic approach to recognising, educating and developing the talent and skills within the community.
Bibi Inderjit Kaur said, “I am thankful to the Sikh community to recognise the contribution made by our organisation — Sikh Dharma International. Yogi Bhajan’s dream was to inculcate the rich cultural heritage of Sikhism in the future generation. We have been living his dreams through Miri Piri Academy. The academy is one of its kinds where kids learn the teachings of gurus along with academic learning. With such honour, our belief becomes more strong.”
The awards are sponsored by the Sikh Directory, the main objective of which is to serve, connect and unite the Sikh community across the world and to help promote Sikh businesses internationally. The awards recognise the pivotal contributions made by the Sikh community across a variety of fields, such as business, charity, education, entertainment, professional services, selfless service and sport. The Sikh Awards was founded by Navdeep Singh. — TNS
