A group of people that admires Mohammad Rafi today reached his ancestral village, Kotla Sultan Singh, to celebrate his birth anniversary. Mohammad Rafi was born at Kotla Sultan Singh on December 24, 1924.

Members of various organisations and individuals came up with an idea to pay homage to the legendry singer at his ancestral village on his birth anniversary.

The president of the Mohammad Rafi Welfare Society, Mohammad Aziz Rafi, who is also the nephew of the legendry singer, along with Ashok Malhotra, film producer Raj Kumar, Pardeep Kumar from Tran Taran, Amit Kumar from Ferozpur and Amarjeet Batth from Ludhiana, visited the village to celebrate the singer’s birth anniversary. They distributed sweets and gifts among the villagers. — TNS
