Amritsar, January 25

A BJP activist, Sandeep Sika (50), who is also brother of Municipal Councillor Anuj Sika, today joined the Congress in presence of Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sunil Dutti. He owns a gas agency and was working for the BJP since 2002. Sika was associated with Navjot Singh Sidhu when he was in the BJP. Sidhu had been instrumental in making him join the Congress. However, Sika alleged that he was upset due to personal attacks by BJP leader Anil Joshi.

He said, “Navjot Singh Sidhu contacted me and asked to join his party recently. I have regards for Sidhu as he is a good politician. Today, I joined the Congress along with supporters.”

Sika claimed that he had hold in the Amritsar (East) and (North) constituencies. He will campaign for Sidhu and Sunil Dutti, also a Congress candidate.
