Satyajit Singh Majithia, president, Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) released a new book on the family history of the Majithia family here today. The book ‘Majithia Bansavali’, written by Davinder Singh Gill, reveals the legendary history of the Majithia family and the role played by the family members in scripting the history of the state during Misls period, Maharaja Ranjit Singh rule and later years during Sikh renaissance.

The KCGC president lauded the profound efforts of the author who has disseminated significant information about Majithias in the book. The historic account in the book covers an array of events even before the establishment of the Khalsa rule by Maharaja Ranjit Singh and the institutions, including SGPC, Khalsa College and Chief Khalsa Diwan.

The writer of the book, Davinder Singh Gill said, “The section-I in the book pays special tributes to Sardar Ijat Singh Majithia and Surat Singh Majithia, who were the heroes of the Ango-Sikh wars. They played a significant role in liberating Maharani Jind Kaur from Chinnar Fort.”
