Tarn Taran: Electrical items worth Rs 54,700 have been stolen from the stores of the BSF’s 87th Battalion,   Amarkot, 40 km from here. Appa Niadoo, lineman of the battalion, mentioned in his complaint to the Valtoha police that he noticed the theft on June 27 as he found articles missing from the quarters of  Type-3 No. 1. The police have registered a case under Sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code. OC

Regular jobs sought

Amritsar: The coordination committee of the paramedical and health employees has written to the Research and Medical Education ministry, seeking its intervention for early redressal of their grievances. Committee chairman Narinder Singh said they demanded job regularisation for Class IV and ancillary staff. They have also sought implementation of minimum wage norm for the employees working under Sulabh project. They have also demanded employment on all vacant posts in medical institutes to decrease workload on the existing staff. Narinder Singh said they had sought appointment from the minister to discuss their issues. TNS

inspection of NCC Battalion

Amritsar: Brig RK Mour, Group Commander, inspected 11 Punjab Battalion, NCC, commanded by Colonel Ashwani Kumar, on Saturday. He was given guard of honour by NCC cadets. Col Ashwani briefed him about training and administrative aspects of the battalion for training year 2018-2019. TNS
