BSNL employees stage protest

Members of the employee union of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) staged a protest outside their office in Ranjit Avenue here today. The association has also announced to initiate chain hunger strike in protest against the alleged autocratic attitude of a few senior officials of the department.
Association’s general secretary Sarabjit Singh said services of the BSNL were affected in various areas because of the autocratic behavior of a few senior officials. He said, “A large number of connections, incuding landline and broadband, have been disconnected during the past few months as employees are not able to give services because they do not have material required for repairs. Ensuring supply of material is the responsibility of these officials, but they are not bothered.”
The employees union said it would continue the protest till these high-handed officials were transferred sand somebody, who was sincere for the growth of the department, was appointed in their place.
