Members of the employee union of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) staged a protest outside their office in Ranjit Avenue here today. The association has also announced to initiate chain hunger strike in protest against the alleged autocratic attitude of a few senior officials of the department.

Association’s general secretary Sarabjit Singh said services of the BSNL were affected in various areas because of the autocratic behavior of a few senior officials. He said, “A large number of connections, incuding landline and broadband, have been disconnected during the past few months as employees are not able to give services because they do not have material required for repairs. Ensuring supply of material is the responsibility of these officials, but they are not bothered.”
