BSNL subscribers to get free call facility

The state-run telecom operator BSNL is all set to introduce free calling for its landline customers in the border district from tomorrow onwards.

While addressing mediapersons here today, the BSNL deputy general manager, SR Sharma, said the scheme would be operational between 9 pm to 7 am and cover all type of connections. There are 60,000 landline connections, 1.80 lakh mobile subscribers and 25,000 broadband customers of the BSNL in the district.

Sharma said the objective of introducing unlimited free calling scheme during night hours from fixed line phones to any operator, including mobile phones anywhere in the country, was to boost landline business. The scheme covers all major landline general, special and major combo (landline with broadband) plans.

As per latest TRAI data, BSNL stands seventh in the all India ranking.
