CBSE Class X: Students erupt with joy

AMRITSAR: Students of the holy city have performed well in the CBSE Class X exams, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. A number of students have scored more than 95 per cent marks in the exams.

Students of the holy city have performed well in the CBSE Class X exams, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. A number of students have scored more than 95 per cent marks in the exams.

The CBSE has re-introduced the Class 10 board exams after nine years.

Tanmay Anand, a student of DAV Public School, and Yuvika Maheshwari, a student of Delhi Public School, jointly topped the city with 98.6 per cent marks. Vrinda Jaitly of DAV Public School bagged 98.4 per cent while Sivkan Kaur of Delhi Public School secured 98 per cent.

Ananya Kapoor of DAV Public School, Jasleen Kaur of Manav Public School and Suneetpal Kaur of Spring Dale Senior School secured 97.8 per cent marks.

Diya Khanna, Manpreet Kaur, students of DAV International School, and Vani Aggarwal of Senior Study School, Putlighar, scored 97.6 per cent marks. A number of students secured 100 marks in many subjects.

Tanmay Anand, who secured 100 marks in English, said, “It is important to attempt the question paper with a peaceful state of mind. My school and parents have played a huge role in my success. This year, the pattern was different, but calmness helped me.”

Yuvika Maheshwari, who wishes to become an entrepreneur, said, “I will opt for the commerce stream. Preparation matters a lot to score well in the board exams.”

Virda, who bagged the second position in the city, wants to be a doctor. Third rank holder Sivkan Kaur wishes to join judicial services.

Diya Aggarwal of DAV International School said she would look towards women studies in future. Vani Aggarwal said she would opt for the commerce stream in Class XI. Ananya Kapoor feels that self-study helped her score good marks in the Class X board exams.

Jasleen Kaur of Manav Public School said, “I am happy with the current format. It evaluates the students in the best way. The additional coaching classes in the school also helped a lot.”

In the school-wise results, Yashika Vermani of Spring Dale Senior School secured 97.4% marks. Four students of the school — Ananya Seth, Arshjeet Singh, Gursimar Singh Miglani and Muskan Sehgal — scored 96.6 per cent marks.

Tanisha Seth (96.2%) and Meenal (96%) topped Manav Public School.

Students of Stalwarts World School also performed well as the school registered 100 per cent pass percentage. Sonali stood first in the school with 87 per cent marks.

Class X students of DAV International School proved their mettle by performing well in the board examinations. A total of 323 students appeared for the exam, of which Aashima Jindal secured 97.4 per cent marks and Chandan Sharma bagged 97 per cent.

Students of Senior Study School, Putlighar, were in a jubilant mood and danced to the tunes of dhol after the results of CBSE Class X exams were declared. Navya Bhandari scored 97.4 per cent while Kashika Mohindru and Harasees Singh secured 96.2 per cent. More than half of the students scored above 90 per cent marks.

Khalsa College Public School (KCPS) and Khalsa College International Public School (KCIPS), Ranjit Avenue, registered 100 per cent pass percentage in the exams.

Hitman Singh (91.2%), Ranbir Kaur (90.6%) and Surbhi (86.4%) topped the the KCIPS whereas girl students Sheetal (93.8%), Karuna Mahajan (92.4) and Noorkamal (89%) were the top scorers for the KCPS.

As many as 22 students of Ryan International School scored above 90 per cent marks. Simerpreet Kaur scored 95.6 per cent while Riya Sharma bagged 94.2 per cent. Sukhmanpreet Kaur and Ravneet Kaur of the same school jointly bagged 94 per cent. 

Abhay Mehta, Ayushi, Krish Bhardwaj and Pratham Sharma of Shri Ram Ashram Public School shared the top position with 95 per cent marks. Priyanka Bhatia, Shruti, Aayush Arora and Samiksha jointly bagged the second position in the school with 94.4 per cent marks. Sahil Bajoria, Vani Gupta and Jairath Mehra stood third with 93.6 per cent.

Students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, GT Road, broke into celebrations after the CBSE Class X results were out. Ekandeep Singh (96.6%), Baneet Singh (96.4 %), Sukhmandeep Kaur (96.4 %), Amritdeep Singh (96%), Manik Balgotra (96%), Aarman Wadhwa (96%), Gurnemat Kaur (95.6 %), Pranjal (95.2%), Sanjampreet Kaur (95%) and Amarjeet Singh (94.6%) performed well in the exams.

Sejalpreet Kaur of Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sultanwind link road, topped the school with 90.2 per cent marks.
