About 52 teachers from CBSE schools across the district attended a two-day resourceful and informative seminar on capacity building programme held at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School (SGHPS), GT Road, that concluded here yesterday. Over 100 school heads were also present.

The topics included understanding classroom management, components of effective classroom, teaching styles, managing classes with a large number of students and management of interpersonal relationship. The chief guest was Joseph Emmanuel, CBSE Regional Officer, Panchkula, and the guest of honour was Pushkar Vohra, Joint Director, Sports.

Emmanuel said, “In today’s competitive world, every institution needs to adapt and thrive by strengthening the skills, instincts and abilities of its teachers.” He chaired a meeting, in which the evaluation policy of the CBSE Class X and XII exams along with the new education policies were discussed.

Emmanuel emphasised on error-free evaluation of the CBSE board exams. “It is a very important aspect to decide the future of the candidates. So, special attention should be paid towards it. The school heads should relieve their teachers for at least 10 days to facilitate the evaluation work without stress and pressure,” he said, adding that Class XII examination would be held in the first week of March. The meeting was quite informative and resourceful.

SGHPS Principal Dharam Veer Singh, Bhawans SL Public School Principal Anita Bhalla, Spring Dale Senior School Principal Rajiv Sharma and Ram Ashram Public School Principal Vinodita Sankhyan along with 40 head examiners of Class X and XII and 110 principals of CBSE schools of Amritsar Sahodaya Complex were present at the meeting. They raised several issues about the new exam pattern for Class X.
