When you act in a film, you are serious about it. But when you are also producing it, you are more serious. That is how versatile Punjabi actor Neeru Bajwa describes her upcoming film ‘Channo’.
The film ‘Channo – Kamli Yaar Di’, produced by Neeru Bajwa herself and Harry Singh Jawandha, is an emotional story of a pregnant woman, who is searching for her lost husband, across borders with the help of her childhood friend. The film will also present actor Binnu Dhillon as a lead opposite Neeru. The actor was quite excited about his debut of sorts while interacting with mediapersons during film promotion in Amritsar.
Binnu said, “The film is special as I am the lead actor for the first time in a serious avatar. I am happy with this change. I believe the film is a chance for me to make an impact on the audience as a serious actor. The film is worth a watch and I am looking forward to it.”
“Neeru is also confident of the film,” said Dhillon. He said, “The story shows woman power on a high. The ‘never say no’ attitude of the protagonist gives a social message to all women. I had no second thoughts about this masterpiece. I am sure that the audience will love this film, which ushers a change in the Punjabi cinema.”
The story of the film was written by Naresh Kathooria while Jatinder Shah composed its music. Santosh Thite is the co-producer of the film and Jaswant Singh Bajwa the executive producer. The film will be released worldwide on February 19.
