An assistant professor, in the Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr Vandana Bhalla, has been awarded bronze medal by the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI), Bangalore, for 2014-15. Dr Vandana has received the award for her contribution in the field of chemistry.
The award was presented by Dr Sourav Pal, Director, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune and president, Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) at the 17th annual general body meeting of the society. The meeting was held at National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) Pune, recently.
Dr Vandana also delivered a lecture on “Aggregation induced emission enhancement materials: Self-assembly and sensing applications” at the symposium.
She joined the Guru Nank Dev University in 2006 and has published 123 research papers in international journals of repute. The average impact factor of her publications is >4.0 with h-index of 26.
Her area of research is supramolecular chemistry. She has also got research grants of more than Rs 1.10 crore from different funding agencies since 2006. She is a mentor of the DST-INSPIRE programme.
Dr Vandana has also been invited to deliver a lecture at the second international symposium on Aggregation Induced Emission, which will be held at South China University of Technology from May 15 to 18 at Guangzhou in China.
