Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu inaugurated a citizen facilitation centre at Guru Nanak Bhawan here on Monday. Now, residents of the east constituency can pay their water, sewerage bills, property tax and licenses fee at the centre.

While addressing a gathering, the Mayor said they had established the citizen facilitation centres at the head office of the MC in Ranjit Avenue, Company Garden, Lahori Gate, Chheharta and Sultanwind Gate.

With these centres coming up in the area, residents can apply for their building plans and trade licences.

“After the introduction of the online system, the MC has witnessed an increase in its revenue. The income of the MC will rise in the coming days. More people have started using the online facility,” said Rintu.
