City boy Siddharth Nahouria is district topper in IIT JEE (Mains)

It was celebration time for several students in the city, who came out with flying colours in the IIT JEE (Mains), 2015-2016. Creating a new benchmark, 18 students of DAV Public School cleared the exam, with Siddharth Nahouria bringing laurels to his school by becoming the district topper. He secured 290 marks out of 360. A student of Class XII, he aims to study at IIT Kanpur or IIT Delhi.

Crediting his success to his extra study hours, Siddharth wants to pursue engineering in computers, which is his favourite subject as well. An overjoyed Siddharth said, “This is just the first step. I am really thankful for the motivation and encouragement that I received from my principal and teachers who had faith in my abilities.”

His parents, Vikas and Minakshi Nahouria, were overwhelmed with their son’s success and hoped that he continued his streak later in life as well. Apart from Siddharth, others who cleared the exam are Bhavya Vasudeva ( 263), Kaustabh Nayyar (224), Garima Chadha (184), Vedant Mehra(179), Siddharth Mehra ( 177), Syed Asad (168), Manavdeep Singh (167), Shrey Sharma (162), Nishad Gupta (158), Himanshu Gupta (158), Chaitanya Sharma (144), Kanav Bhagat (141), Manav Jindal (135), Aayush Kalra (117), Harsh Mehra (115) and Shivam Kalia (111).

As many as 13 students of Springdales School, too, made their mark in IIT JEE (Mains) for the session. The students include, Hargun Singh Grover, Krishnam Bajaj, Sahil Bhatia, Rohit Salwan, Vinay Kapoor, Pranvat S Dang, Danish Kapoor, Satchit Gupta, Navneet Kaur, Aashna Kapoor, Abhinav Thapar, Divanshu Rastogi and Ananya Sood.

Four students of Ryan International School, Amritsar, too joined in the merit list, with Jaideep Singh scoring 186 marks, Rahul Singh (130), Agandeep Singh (126) and Pushpinder Siingh (104).
