Craze for tattoo on the rise among youth

The craze for getting inked is on the rise among city youth. They are keen on getting different portraits, patterns, religious quotes, name initials, etc. tattooed on their body parts. Many of them are going in for cover-up tattoos to get rid of their old designs.
A number of city-based tattoo artists claim of using modern techniques and skin-friendly inks for their clients, who are as young as 18 years old.
Ashu Singh, a tattoo artist at ‘we tat2U’, says, “Most of my customers are aged between 18 and 28. We are using skin-friendly inks.”
“I ensure that my customers get the exact design chosen by them. I have been using organic material,” says Bhupinderjit Singh, another artist at Colour Lounge.
The youngsters are doing this under the influence of their friends and social media just to add a style element to their personality.
Manisha Sharma, student, says, “I got inspired from TV personality VJ Bani.”
However, experts suggest that one has to be careful as aftercare has to be ensured.
According to Dr Shreya, cosmetologist, “People should think once before having a tattoo as there are many professional avenues wherein tattoo is not acceptable. The removal procedure is more painful and expensive.”
Skin specialist, Dr Sandeep says, “The removal of the hard colours, like red and green, inflicts pain.”
