Amritsar, May 25

Dal Khalsa has given a call for Amritsar bandh on June 6 to mark the 34th anniversary of the Operation Bluestar. A day before (on June 5), members of the organisation will undertake a genocide remembrance march.

While reiterating their demand for an impartial international investigation into the killings of thousands of pilgrims, SGPC employees and volunteers of Dharam Yudh Morcha, party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said the pain of the deadly attack was still afresh.

“The bandh call is meant to protest against the Army assault and loot of manuscripts and artefacts from Sikh National Library,” he said. The march will start from Gurdwara Ranjit Avenue in the evening and culminate at Akal Takht where ardas will be performed in the memory of martyrs.
