DAV students excel in JEE-Main

Students of DAV International School (DAVIS), Amritsar, have once again proved their mettle by getting fantastic results in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main), 2015. As many as 16 students qualified the examination.

The students, who appeared for the examination for entry to top central technical institutes of India, are Haresh Khanna securing 250 marks, Kanav Anand (189), Kabir Ahuja (185), Nandit Mehra (154), Sahildeep (150), Anandita Gill (149), Ridhima Aggarwal (128), Karanjot Singh (122), Anmol Chopra (121), Gaurav Khanwani (116), Tushar Dhigra (110), Himanshu (108), Krishna (107), Tushar Bhatia (105), Vaibhav Sharma (105) and Danish Sharma (112).

Principal Anjana Gupta along with the teaching faculty congratulated the performers and wished them good luck for JEE Advanced.

7 students clear first step

As many as seven students from different institutes of the region passed the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for getting admissions to IITs and other reputed engineering institutes.

Six students from Nishan-E-Sikhi Institute of Science Studies being run by Nishan-E-Sikhi Charitable Trust, under the patronage of Baba Sewa Singh Kaar Sewa Wale, have cleared IIT/JEE (Main) examination. The students are Simranjit Singh, Pavleen Kaur, Gunveen Kaur, Amritpal Singh, Tarlochan Singh and Tajinder Kaur, who scored 157, 150, 124, 115, 105 and 104 marks, respectively.

Institute director Gursharanjit Singh Mann said the credit went to teaching coordinator Pankaj Kumar (biology), Vinkul Parkash (physics), Dr Bibhanshu Gupta (chemistry) and Anand Kumar Jha (mathematics).

Delhi Public School’s Ira Kaundal secured 181 marks out of 360 in JEE Main. The cut off marks are 105. The 16-year-old Class 12th student expressed her desire to opt for scientific research.

JEE is an all-India common engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to various engineering colleges and courses all over the country.

In 2012, CBSE announced this common examination in place of AIEEE and IIT-JEE.

According to an estimate, about 13 lakh students appeared this year for the entrance test for admission to various engineering colleges in the country.
