‘Dispose of medical waste in proper way’

Civil Surgeon Dr Hardeep Singh Ghai on Tuesday organised a workshop for employees of the Health Department and instructed them dispose of medical waste in a proper way was essential. Medical waste can spread harmful bacteria, which can lead to horrible consequences.
The meeting was attended by all block biomedical waste nodal officers, medical officers, dental officers, nursing staff and LHVs. Speaking on the occasion, Ghai said that mishandling of biomedical waste could cause many diseases, including HIV and hepatitis.
District Immunisation Officer Dr Ramesh Pal Singh educated health employees about the important steps in immunisation techniques. — TNS
