Amritsar, September 25
A concoction of comedy, entertainment, romance and thrill, the upcoming Punjabi film Doorbeen will bring together three young star casts, singer-turned-actor Ninja, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jass Bajwa.
While the state struggles to find a solution to the problem of rampant drug and substance abuse, the film is an attempt to bring out the truth of the drug trade and smuggling.
“It’s a film that has a strong message while it attempts to highlight the story of a youngster strapped in drug trade. The story is backed by a lot of research by the team on what usual ways and codes define the drug peddling and smuggling business in the state,” said Ishan Chopra, director of the film.
Ninja, the leading actor of the film, seemed quite excited about his film. “I am glad to play a very different kind of role in Doorbeen. I play the role of a guy who is quite emotional but very brainy at the same time. He is the mastermind of sending messages through unusual ways in the trade of smuggling. I feel that the film has a very honest approach towards the issue and I urge everyone to come and watch it.”
Wamiqa Gabbi, too, agreed that innovative subjects and stories should be given their due in the industry. “The best part about the film is its unique story.”
The movie is set to release on September 27.
